During a strenuous winter hike in the welsh mountains I took this image of the snow capped Moel Cynghorion and Snowdon mountains.
This was the day from hell where it seemed as though mother nature really wanted to punish me in every way she could. I had a particular image in mind when i set off on the hike but upon approaching the summit I had to take shelter during severe wind and driving hail and snow.
After taking shelter for over an hour in arctic conditions I decided to make my way back down the mountain where halfway down the storm cleared but there was not enough time to get back to the summit for sunset.
I managed to get this image just before I climbed higher into the cloud and the storm that followed.
