It was a very cold autumn morning with lingering mist in the forest where I was final able to capture this photograph of the “The Fallen Veteran”.
I have been trying to photograph this scene for a very long time and just couldn’t get there when the conditions were right for the image but finally I was able to capture what I had in mind.
During winter time there isn’t much colour and the image doesn’t quite work and the summer months are just too green. I had been preying for some mist in this particular area all autumn and finally I was rewarded.
This photograph was taken at one of my local nature reserves which has over 240 veteran trees which are some of the oldest trees in the country in Worcestershire.
